Description: Neg Mawon is a powerful visual homage to Haiti’s most enduring symbol of resistance and liberation. Set against the rolling green hills of the Haitian countryside, Ghesilhomme portrays the iconic maroon figure — kneeling, barefoot, and sounding the conch shell — a call to rise, a cry for freedom. In this evocative rendering, Ghesilhomme doesn’t simply recreate a historical image — he breathes life into it. Neg Mawon becomes more than a symbol; it is a living memory, a timeless embodiment of the Haitian spirit: defiant, rooted, and eternally free.
