Description:
In Kolibrì ak Zwazo Paradi, Ghesilhomme captures a delicate encounter between a radiant hummingbird and a bold Bird of Paradise bloom. The composition is alive with contrast — the sharp green background sets the stage for the fiery red, yellow, and white petals, while the tiny bird glows with quiet energy.

The scene feels sacred, almost mythical — a celebration of Haiti’s natural wonders and the beauty found in life’s smallest, most fleeting moments. The Bird of Paradise, often seen as a symbol of joy and freedom, pairs effortlessly with the hummingbird, whose motion and resilience echo the spirit of the island itself.

Rendered with vibrant color and gentle precision, this painting invites us to notice what is often overlooked — the stillness in motion, the softness in survival, and the splendor hidden in nature’s smallest gestures.
