Taxi Boat Labadie

$350.00
Only 1 available

Date: 2024

From: Port-au-Prince

Medium: Oil on Canvas

Dimensions : 16 inches x 20 inches

Artist: Louis Saurel is a multi-talented Haitian painter who currently resides in the neighborhoods of Bourdon and Musseau, on the outskirts of Pétion-Ville. Now in his forties, Saurel has been immersed in art since childhood, growing up in a family of artists. Alongside his brother, who is also a painter, he discovered his passion for art at the age of twelve. After school at the Lycée, Saurel would visit the workshop of the renowned artist Jean René Jérôme, where he received mentorship and guidance that helped shape his artistic path. For Saurel, painting was never a necessity but a true calling.

Description: In Taxi Boat Labadie, Louis Saurel transports us to the tranquil shores of Labadie, where a vibrant red and blue boat awaits its next journey. Sheltered beneath the lush canopy of a tree, the boat rests quietly by the calm waters, evoking a sense of peace and anticipation. The distant green island and the soft blend of sky and sea invite the viewer to imagine the gentle rhythm of the waves and the slow pace of life in this idyllic setting. Saurel captures the essence of Haiti’s coastal beauty, where the simplicity of the scene reflects the harmony between nature and the everyday life of its people. This painting is a tribute to the quiet moments that define island life and the timeless charm of Haiti’s shores.
